1 Common Regions

There are fourteen meridians in the body – twelve standard meridians, and the Ren and Du meridians along the median part of the torso. All illness originates from blockages of these fourteen meridians. Unblocking the fourteen meridians will cure everything. However, many people don’t have enough time to slap their entire body. We recommend Paida the head and four universal regions which covers all fourteen meridians.

The common regions are both front and back of elbows, both knees in 360 degree, both front and back of hands, and both feet in all sides. No matter what symptoms one has, these common regions should always be slapped first.

2 The Eight Weak Corners

Armpits, groin, inner elbows and the popliteal fossa (back of the knees) are mostly likely to accumulate cold-dampness, toxins, and wastes. Clearing these areas is a shortcut to healing. Inner elbows and back of the knees are part of the common regions, but the armpits and the groin are not included in the universal regions for Paida because they are less convenient to slap and the pain is greater. Thus, they need to be your key targets of Paida if if you haven’t done so often.

3 Ignore the Name of the Disease

This is the primary concept behind PaidaLajin. We advocate ignoring the name of the disease, not the disease itself because the name of the disease only shows the tip of iceberg.

4 Complex Diseases

People seldom suffer from one disease. All disease are complex. Even such common ailments as colds, fevers, and coughs are complex diseases. They relate to the immune system, which is in turn relates to the heart, lungs, liver, spleen, and kidneys.

5 Carpet Bombing

Carpet bombing originally a military term, refers to thoroughly bombing each and every inch of a target. Practicing PaidaLajin in a carpet-bombing manner – slapping the entire body from head to toe, while stretching in reclining posture, gradually stretching each leg for up to thirty minutes – clears the body’s fourteen main meridians.

6  Anti-VIrus Mechanism

Anti-Virus Mechanism is human’s innate self-healing system. It is invisible, akin to a computer’s anti-virus software. The wisdom, sensitivity and sophistication of man’s self-healing power go beyond our knowledge and imagination. Once the anti-virus mechanism is activated through PaidaLajin, it will san the entire body. When qi finds a blockage or a problem area, it will lock in on the target and dissolve it. Thus diseases will be healed.

7 Healing Reactions (Healing Crisis)

Possible healing reactions include pain, soreness, numbness, swelling, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, unconsciousness, etc. Healing reactions are natural and positive warnings. They are recovery responses. It is not common for people to experience healing reactions when they practice PaidaLajin at home because the intensity of PaidaLajin is not strong enough. Thus many people are unaware that healing reactions are inevitable in self-healing, and these symptoms are great signs of recovery. Of course, no need to worry if healing reactions do occur. Paida the inner elbows and Neiguan acupoint (two inches above your wrist line) will help.

8 Sha

Sha is a very vivid manifestation of yin-yang interactions. When PaidaLajin boosts yang energy, it induces biochemical reactions with various substances in the body. Qi excretes particles, which are made of toxic waste in the blood and bodily fluids, through various orifices. Sha is part of the healing reactions.

Here are some basic principles of using sha as a mean of self-diagnosis: Sha appears wherever there is a blockage. The amount of sha indicates the severity of blockage. The darker the sha, the more severe the pathogenic elements (such as toxic waste, excessive cold, heat, or dampness). Sometimes, swollen lumps may appear with sha. Regardless of the name of diseases, illness can be healed and pain can be stopped through PaidaLajin.

Here are implications of color of sha:

  1. Self-Diagnosis can be done through the color of Sha.
  2. Flushed Skin: healthy and normal
  3. Red: Wind heat – common in people with poor health
  4. Purplish Red: Stagnant heat – prone to feeling sore
  5. BLue: Phlegm-dampness – prone to fatigue
  6. Purplish Black: Stagnation and inflammation, indicating heavy meridian blockages
  7. Black: Appearing mostly with chronic or critical illnesses, or after prolonged medication
  8. Colorful Sha and Swollen Skin: Severe blockages, indicates detoxification is underway.

9 When bones are in place and tendons are flxible, there will be naturally be smooth Qi and blood flow

A baby has strong yang energy and a very soft body. As one ages, their body becomes stiffer, their tendons get shorter, and their yang energy declines. In old ages, people suffer scoliosis and thus become shorter. When a person is dead, the yang energy is used up and the body is completely stiff. The same is true with the nature. Green branches and leaves are tender, flexible and exuberant; withered ones are hard, fragile, and lifeless. Flexibility indicates abundant yang energy, stiffness signals weak yang energy. Jin-suo means tendon stiffness and contraction. The twelve main tendons run alongside the twelve main meridians. Jin-suo causes meridian blockages and health problems. It does not occur in certain parts of the body, but in the entire body and throughout one’s life. Jin-suo is related to all illnesses. Old Chinese sayings reflect the importance of flexible jin.“Where the bones are in place and jin is flexible, qi and blood will flow smoothly.””Extending jin by one inch will prolong a life by ten years.” In order to live a long and healthy life, one should make their tendons softer, longer, and more flexible.
