Paida (拍打; pinyin: pāi da): To use hands and/or tools to slap repeatedly on a part of the body or the entire body at an acceptable intensity, in order to enhance Qi (energy), manifest and remove meridian blockages (toxins and wastes that induce diseases and various symptoms), thus self-healing happens naturally.

Paida is also the most ancient natural diagnostic method. As pains and diseases are clearly manifested as Sha and other symptoms, in ancient China, the therapy was not called Paida, but “Diao Shang”, i.e., revealing and then healing injuries and diseases. If a person has no illness, no Sha or other healing reactions will appear during Paida.
